FBM, StickingToOurRoots Mojo \m/
FBM’s approach to BMX and life is awesome to see, they do what ever the hell they want, exploring any possibility as they wish, adding a much needed recklessness to the seriousness that others try to push. They keep BMX grounded. These guys started off printing Tees and eventually moved onto making their own frames, parts and apparel. I love the fact that dudes on their team are not trick junky superstars.
Please note that being a successful BMX pro, with loads of sponsors and all the bling is nothing wrong. But to me BMX has never been about being a bling bling pro, it was always about having fun and most importantly seeing how high I can jump. I still love that feeling when I learn something new, but pedaling flat out towards a lip and pumping the F£$k out of it and feeling completely weightless for a few seconds will always be number 1 to me.
This is what FBM is about. Throughout the years they put on the best BMX jams with little or no prize money, and some of the sketchiest ramps. A video of their FBM GHETTO comp just popped up and I instantly got excited because it reminded me that STICKING TO OUR ROOTS is only 5 months away. You’d think…wow…5 months is a long time but when you take into consideration that, we need to finish filming GoodCleanFun, set up the track, build the stage, jumps, street obstacles and lots of flaming antics its not all that much time. But still lots of excitement is in the air… and this year’s event is going to take it up a fair few notches. The aim behind STICKING TO OUR ROOTS is to celebrate our love for BMX and we all know that the MaltaBMX crew know pretty well how to celebrate. Stay tuned for more information coming very soon. 2013 is going to be EPIC \m/
